Kenya Mosby began her college admissions career in 1995 at Seton Hall University, assisting in the recruitment and financial aid packaging of students in the Educational Opportunity Program. She provided financial aid workshops to high schools and community groups. She quickly moved into management, overseeing the financial aid process and the Graduate Admissions Access Program for students seeking admission into the Master of Business Administration program. Additionally, she organized New Jersey Graduate School Admissions Conferences for students attending undergraduate programs in New Jersey, which provided workshops to encourage students to apply to graduate schools across New Jersey and beyond.

As the Associate Director of Graduate Admissions at William Paterson University, she worked with a team reporting directly to the Provost’s Office to devise and execute recruitment plans and goals for the University. She assisted in organizing Open Houses. She traveled across the country recruiting students. In this role, she managed the graduate assistantship program that hired and awarded graduate students 1.5 million dollars in tuition and stipend awards annually. Additionally, she coordinated with the undergraduate admissions office to ensure the team met University recruitment goals each year. She completed her Master of Arts in Sociology, graduating with a 3.95 GPA. She was also an Adjunct Professor of Sociology for two years.

As the Program Manager of the Education Leadership and Politics and Education programs at Teacher’s College, Columbia University, she managed the administration of the admissions, scholarship awards, and academic advisement of students. Additionally, she managed a staff to maintain the program websites and the registration of all enrolled students. Under her leadership, students received increased and accurate communication from faculty to ensure they graduated on time. She also assisted in the admissions review of undergraduate applicants for Columbia University. She managed an operating budget of 2.6 million dollars.

Through the years, Kenya realized the universities restricted her ability to be transparent about what it takes to be admitted and receive scholarships. So, she started Pelham Admissions Edge in Mt Laurel, NJ, and has expanded to helping students nationwide by offering workshops and individualized college counseling to fully meet the needs of families struggling through the admissions and financial aid processes. Now, with over 20 years of experience in university admissions for undergraduate and graduate programs, she advises and leverages her clients’ strengths to maximize their chances for college admission and scholarship awards. Her individualized approach to crafting applications enables students to stand out in a crowded applicant pool. 98% of her students receive admission into their first or second-choice universities, with scholarship offers averaging $28,000 per year for each student. Whether the goal is admission into a state college or an elite university for a bachelor's degree or MD, she enjoys traveling across the country, helping students reach their goals academically and financially. She now resides in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.
